we miss you so much Abraham. Here is abraham singing Nay Mebtsa Deset (THE PROMISED ISLAND) one of his big time songs in his last performance at sawa giving hope to the youth: (the guy playing keyboard was the guy he tried to save. they both died that day in th red sea.) the philosopher is saying in my veins resides my love for you to the world you are small, my country but to me you are the world you are in my heart everywhere i go An inner PRIDE THAT NEVER SUBSIDES Fikriki alo ab serawirey Felsiki enkelo ab demey ne'alem nishto hagerey ne'aye gin nesiki iki alemay abzekedkuwo ala ab libey nubur rekibe kem sebey temar wereket ab idey zeynetsef haben ab wishtey if your tigrigna is good, listen to the biblical but universal analogy he is using. The story of Moses and the enslaved people crossing oceans and deserts to find the promised land. In his song, of course, the promised island is Eritrea and the suffering people, the eritrean people.
you will find the song at teshamo.com. at the end he is mixing it with selel abiliyom which is an old tigrigna tribe song, modernized and mixed in many current guyla songs. a little cultural education to all who seek it. Selel Abiliyom is a traditional song of encouragement, a hymn if you will, to the land to be faithfull, fruitful and good to her people.

This Eritrean singer is one of the greatest of all time. But is really not appreciated same way as Yemane Baria and others. Maybe because he is still alive, I don't know. But his music is quite distinguished and out of the ordinary. The guy ´can't be mistaken as a mediocre if you genuinely understand the beauty of Tigrigna music. Here are some songs for those who want to start delving into the exceptional and remarkable music of Abrar OSMAN. Go to http://www.teshamo.com and press Tigrigna and then Abrar Osman some good songs to start with: from Hidmona album-Mistir kiltiena (ILRN) from Hidmona album-Melki Beynay (ZFSQ) from Hidmona album-Bekenu Godena (UCDN) from Terekab Yeadiyo- Weninato Akiley from Terekab Yeadiyo- Nafkotki from Terekab Yeadiyo-Aykelon iye beyney form Terekab Yeadiyo-Asmara from Shama Bel-Hallo Tefetawit from Shama Bel-Newri Aykonen Fikri from Shama Bel-Akireya from Shama Bel-Tsibah from Shikor Album-Audio001 from Shikor Album-Audio002 (saho song) from Shikor Album-Audio006
Abrar's music is certainly unique and he has created his own style of music and has created a strong following of his style. His life performance has created a right impression on the crowd. His shear emotion and connection with his audience is a pleasure to watch and he certainly did not disappoint the New Year revellers. He was supported with highly talented and experienced musicians that created brilliant moments. It was clear to see that, had the band spend more time with Abrar training and honing their art, they could even have produced more explosive show. It would be great to see them again with more time spending together as a band. His Saho songs also created a truly authentic and shear brilliance, not to mention his old songs such as shikor.
Abrar Osman also sings beautiful Saho songs. Go to http://www.teshamo.com and press Saho and then Abrar Osman

no hamus Alex Kahsay aka Alemash/Alemayo ran away to Australia about a year ago to seek asylum he lives in Melbourne now along with famous composer and tegadalay Muhktar Saleh (wrote lyrics for and composed melodies for Zemach, Helen Meles, Elsa, Wedi Tukul, Fhira, Osman, Alamin) who left his family of his wife and 3 kids.....You probably mistaken him for Tesfay Mengesha....Tesfay Mengesha (moved to eritrea at age 9 enrolled at denden in kampo bolo, asmara) and alex were best friends they are both amharas and although poor made great music but alex i heard couldnt take it anymore plus he had no one to help him out....Fitsum i am not sure of his whereabouts but Im 100% sure he is Tigray of course you dont care but just letting you know also im pretty sure you understand Tigrinya very well you would hear that he is a "Tseyaf" clearly on the Amoure album....Brurey is now taking the place for Alex and is singing with Tesfay at Bar Gejeret and in areas of Godayf mainly where you will see Tesfay perform....they have made several selection albums together... __________________http://www.GELEMELE.COM

yes Aziz came out around last year he did very good and his cd I have to say is well to and smart man by the way not incorporating politics in the music to sell more in both countries....but yeah its all guayla nice cd he has a song called Romay that was also famous but he was hurting the Eritrean music/artists industry by racking up in our market and taking most of the sales... __________________http://www.GELEMELE.COM

ok, didn't know alex too left the old country. i kinda understand him. he is an orphan and the music hasn't yielded a lot of returns, i guess. this reminds me of a joke: u know the immigration office and the president palace are located in the same street facing each-other. one day isayas was driving home from work, and he saw the long queuing at the immigration office. and he asked his driver...what are all this people doing?
the driver " they are trying to leave eritrea" to which isayas replied "IMBWA, NEaNAY BEL NEHNA DEMA NESER'A" the way things are going, the old man is going to be the only man standing in the old country.

lets not involve politics into this but his music wasnt as appealing...i mean dont get me wrong he had some nice songs but just wasnt like Tesfay Mengesha....TEsfay is a hell of a singer not only for the voice but listen to all of his songs and ull see he is probably one of the few singers even past eritrean singers i know can master the zeima and do it perfect for the song along with tempo thus why he is on almost every selection their is and why he is a favorite amongst alot of eritreans....tesfay is a great artist.....but about fitsum and alex they used to work with kahsay berhe in a band back in 94 called Adulis Band and icoulda swore habtom yemane was with them but he was an artist too back then not that great with voice but hell of a lyricist and thats why he is a composer instead today....he just got done finishing up gual ankere's album their are some other new artists out he will release and also finishing touches on guhjele bahli walta member Weldu Araya who wants to form into another isak simon lol and last but not least one of my favs Wedi Shawsh who has a great voice is working on an album..... __________________http://www.GELEMELE.COM

on the 2nd day of christmas, to celebrate jesusYared was an Axumite musician of the 6th century who lived during the reign of Gabra Masqal of Axum (who succeeded Kaleb). He is credited with inventing Tewahedo Orthodox Church music and a system of musical notation before the european system. The brother of Isaac Simon, Tesfaldet Simon, graduated engineer, singing Fikri iyu minbar (love is the point of existence), very beautiful song indeed.
I am imagining putting this one in my car and driving
around the boulevards of asmara, gazing
at the palm trees and art-decos.
damn, this song is really good.
he is singing:
kab i'delay dyu nay seb mireka
tsehay hiwetey wezbi berika
tesfa koritse ayakelen kibel
natay tebleni metsia be'idel
either by luck or other people's blessings
the sun of my life is suddenly shinning
when i had given up hope and had said it is not time
a girl came by surprise and claimed me

have you heard this one from Mahlet, really good song.orginal song by Tigrean singer, Bahta GebreHiwet.
Tigrigna-Bahta G/Hiwot's song ,"Sikay zekeal iyu" re-made by mahlet, sooo beautiful!
she is saying:
sekay zekal iyu
kulu gizie
nay fikri sekay gin
zeykeal iyu zedelyo
tezeyrekebe
from youtube:Quote:
About Artist Mahlet: A 22 yrs old young vocalist, Mahlet GebreGiyorgis, was born in Mekelle, the capital city of Tigray, in August 1986. Mahlet, with an inborn vocal virtuosity, commenced the art of music in Mekelle five years ago. In those few years of dexterity, when she was working as a singer at Yared and Selam Music Bands in Mekelle, she devoted herself with perseverance to serious studies of music that dramatically gave rise to the happiest expectation of her present success. A year before, with a view to evaluate the standard of her genius as a vocalist in manipulating the public taste and sensitivity, she released a single melody in Tigrigna, known as Beyneye Terife, that unexpectedly resulted in adding an extraordinary value into the standard of Tigrigna songs and catching hold of a wide range of public reputation and acceptance throughout Ethiopia. Indeed, despite the fact that it was her fresh attempt to breakthrough the arena of our country's music industry , Beyney Terife was a yardstick that won her the 2005-2006 Tigray All Arts Award (TARTA), which was organized by the Mega Creative Arts Center in 2005. Now, Mahlet Gebregiyorgis is once again appearing into the scene of the Ethiopian 3rd Millennium with a breathtaking mastery of a new melody, called Wossine. This new music album expresses lots of issues that are associated with the day-to-day lives of human society, in its sweetest form in away it captivates all of us. It is a great pleasure and honor to Mega Creative Arts Center while providing you with the original version of Mahilet's new album as a novel souvenir in the new Millennium. Cheers!

yes i know aklilu tesfatzion wrote the lyrics to Eba's hit the guy behind taniqo, kahsay berhe, dawit shlan, wedi mesfin's lyrics....very talented....yes the original Nrimey 2004 (Nbl Adeye) was sung by duo Tedros Hagos (Ururu) & Yosef Tekle (40) but at celebrations parade they put all together with the hagerawi agelgelot troupe and thats when Shlan & Eba were added into the song but when i first heard it you get confused who was in the song by the voices i thought wedi mesfin was in it originally as well because he is in the same cultural troupe.... but yeah Ururu got famous around 2001...after I saw him perform at Expo to one famous song he had called haben hager everybody went crazy when he was singing it live....a year later he released the megahit and raymok winner of the year for 2002 along with his partner "40" "Ururu Eritrea" written by the both of them....but he is not a favorite in asmara same for Eba and wedi mesfin....popular singer right now is dawit shlan yes even more than wedi tikabo...shlan is taking the shine and so is korchach.... __________________http://www.GELEMELE.COM

fame makes one behave differently. the same where ever you go. but wedi tikabo is ok, always says hello even if he doesn't know you. takes the time to chat with people. wedi tikabo is great lyrics writer. he sings very good too. but i like him when he sings songs like tet'asi, yet, he never performs that song publicly, u have to see him in the night cafe's like hakosea to really appreciate wedi tikabo. he sings tigrigna reggae, he experiments, he is great. dawit shilan is also great when he is performing in clubs, he will sing old songs, songs that normally never are heard on tv. in public they mostly sing guyla, not experimental stuff. that is why, in order experience the true and hidden abilities of these musicians it is always better to meet them at their home-turfs, at the clubs. her is wedi tikabo singing hageray, listen to the lyrics, the song about what eritrea the country needs, artists, educated people, patriots, priests, doctors, farmers etc...he is asking: my country, which one do you love most out of all of them??
wedi tikabo when he was younger....check him out!

wedi tikabo when he was younger....check him out!
dont get me wrong now....wedi tikabo is my fav singer and as for newcomer behind my alltime greatest wedi tukul, fhira, and ogbagabr....yes no one can gat'm like he can he does it on his own and makes you wonder sometimes how in the hell did he come up with that....shlan is coo but im not really a fan of him he screams a little bit too much gets my attention off of him but hes still coo...tkabo is greater whether on home turf or not he is one of the few singers i have seen that can rock a crowd live on his own all night even if he is tired....actually they both sing alot of old songs from 60's by artists like tekle tesfazghi and tewelde redda but thats how every artist starts out and then sometimes they remix it which then shows if they can really master the zeima to the same song with a different beat....usually most artists dont want to expirement because they are scared of their popularity/name might go down in the industry and as well as losing lots of money/time spent in the project its very risky....only person who could pull something off like that is probably fhira or tesfay mengesha... __________________http://www.GELEMELE.COM

pain can be endured all the time but the pain of love can't if that love is not mutual some think love is white and some that it is black some think it is tall and others think it is short i never experienced love before and before i had the chance to comprehend and contemplate much about it behold, here i am, infected by pain of love and in deep worry it doesn't matter if the weather is warm or cold or it is day or night, nor does it matter if you are wandering in the jungle or the forest or you are high on a steep hill or the bottom ground the powerful pain of love is like the wind of the forests, you don't know from where or when it comes but it will not let you go after it has gotten hold of you you can't lay it down to the side and forget about it but since all pain can be endured in order to endure the pain of love one should first try hard to understand the nature of everything and be patient people who haven't experienced what i have, crave to experience love but the pain of love will not let you be after it has you imprisoned

this great classic song by berhane haile used to make people crazy in 70ties and 80ties in eri bars and discos. here it is re-newed listening to these kind of eternal songs makes one miss Eritrean life. fetiyeki ile entegeletskulki hasabat libey nekulu mermirki tefetye aleku ilki aytekure'i dehri gezieki nekeytetseli haki tekoynu fikri kelete kikewen yegba iway mizanu hade fikri hiziwo ilka bitiway mengedi yekeses'yu keyteferedi just because i told you i am in love with you and after you examined secrets of my heart in every way you began to be haughty because you made one fall for you you can risk getting hated after your time of loving in an ideal world, the love between two people is suppose to be of equal weight but you are taking advantage of my love and using it for your own hideous agendas you can be persecuted and judged for this (by God)
